# Compose

> Write, preview, and publish posts from the dashboard.

The Compose page is where you write and publish posts manually. It includes a live per-platform preview, image attachment, and a schedule toggle.

## Writing a post

Type your post in the textarea. Character counts appear below for each platform you've selected — they turn amber when you're under 20 characters from the limit, and red if you're over.

**Platform limits**

| Platform | Limit |
| -------- | ---------------- |
| Bluesky | 300 characters |
| Threads | 500 characters |
| LinkedIn | 3,000 characters |

The Publish button is disabled if your text exceeds any selected platform's limit. Shorten the text or deselect that platform to proceed.

## Selecting platforms

The **Post to** section lists your connected accounts. Check one or more. The preview panel on the right updates in real time to show how the post will look on each platform.

If no accounts are connected, a link takes you to the Accounts page.

## Adding images

Click **Add image** to attach up to 4 images per post (max 1 MB each, jpeg/png/gif/webp). Images upload to Postezi's media storage immediately — a spinner shows while uploading, and the Publish button waits until all uploads complete before enabling.

## Post now vs Schedule

Toggle between **Post now** and **Schedule** using the radio buttons.

* **Post now** — publishes immediately when you click Publish.
* **Schedule** — shows date and time pickers (UTC). The post is queued and published automatically at the chosen time. You can view and cancel scheduled posts in the [Posts](/dashboard/queue) page.

## AI-drafted posts

When you click **Approve** on a queued post from the Queue tab, you're taken to Compose with the content pre-filled. A banner at the top identifies it as AI-drafted from your GitHub activity. Edit as needed, then publish normally.

<Tip>
If you close Compose before publishing, the draft stays in the Queue. Come back to it any time.
